Chingay 2017 with the Malay Contigent - Best in Contingent Display Award
Our drummers represented the school at the annual Chingay event this year as part of the Malay Contingent. They spent their weeknights and weekends collaborating with other performing arts groups to put up a lively, energetic performance entitled ‘Gagasan Emas’, which earned them the Best in Category Display Award. Our drummers definitely enjoyed the experience as they honed their drumming as well as performing skills in front of a huge international crowd. They developed greater self-confidence, especially for those performing for the first time in front of a big audience.
Other than public stages, the Drums Ensemble also shares the joy of drumming with the school during school events! Our secondary 1 drummers made their debut when they performed during Awards Day. The drummers continue to develop their drumming skills as well as building greater self-confidence with our upcoming programmes and activities, such as the Annual Drums Camp and various workshops.
CW 6 Racial Harmony Celebration
Drums Ensemble showcased their engaging Chingay item to the school. This time, the drummers not only played the drums but also danced as part of the performance.
